Webpage stories 1
As it is known, Balázs really likes doing things on his own. This was not different with the webpage neither. He bought the WordPress theme, checked videos and articles on the internet and started to make it. It took several months as you can imagine as he had and still has a fulltime job, so he had the chance to make it just during nights or weekends.
But ok, it started to become quite nice. But then he got to a stage where he could not improve it any more without the help of others.
He is participant in several groups on FB. He always says, ‘Just to make sure that on every platform I can gather information. You never know when it can be useful.’ So he was surfing in a group where people offered their online work, when the idea came: What if he hires someone from that group who can make the latest changes remotely?
So he wrote to the group and soon a guy offered his help, who was making motorbike tours in South America for a living, but in his spare time he helped people to correct some things in their websites.
Balázs was fascinated. That is one thing that the guy is a big motorbiker – this was already a big plus to Balázs as he himself has 3 motorbikes and likes going on tours and on the track – but the guy seemed to be working in a very agile and transparent manner, which was engaging to Balázs a lot.
So they agreed on the work details and basically on the next day the work started. Everything went well, the bugs were fixed within 2 weeks, everything was tested several times by Balázs and actually by me too. Everything seemed to be nice. Finally they said that ok, this will be good this way, we can release really soon the website.
Then Balázs started to discuss with a coworker who was actually designing websites. What a coincidence, Balázs can show off, what he could make in the past months. So they decided to check it together. But this is when the realisation came. It is not fast enough! And furthermore, some things are not working on mobile phone.
What a shame, what a shame. When we think we are about to cross the finish line, something just kicks us back to halfway somewhere.
Whatevs. The coworker offered his help and gave to Balázs some hints, how to make the webpage faster and mobile friendly.
So back to work, Balázs started all over again, And he didn’t know, but the funny part was just about to come…
